The Cajun French-English/English-Cajun French Dictionary & Phrasebook is a paperback book created by Centenary College graduates Jennifer Gipson and Clint Bruce. This is not the most comprehensive dictionary available; it was created in 2002 and is a small paperback at about 150 pages, while the 2010 Dictionary of Louisiana French: As Spoken in Cajun, Creole, and American Indian Communities is much broader in scope and clocks in at around 900 pages.

However, if you’re looking for something smaller to start out with, this might be a good option for you. It has received many positive reviews, but if you’re someone who really wants to see the phonetic version for new words you might prefer another resource. The book presents some general rules and guidelines for pronunciation but does not give the phonetics every time it introduces a new word. You can purchase it at major retailers like Barnes & Noble, ebay, etc.
